First Chemotherapy Treatment

GREAT news........ my PET scan was normal, praise God.  I was really anxious and am so relieved, I needed to have some good news.  I am smiling ear to ear, can you see it?

My first chemo treatment went smooth as silk.  I didn't even feel it when she stuck my port for the infusion.  The oncology nurses are just super.  They are a wealth of information and encouragement.  It wasn't all doom and gloom there either, it was really kind of fun.  It was a huge room of recliners with patients receiving their treatments.  It was comical to watch the patients, you know I'm a people watcher.  Some of them (especially the little old men) were really funny.  I was there about 4 1/2 hours.  It didn't hurt or make me feel different in any way (YET).  We're off and running.......  My hair should start to "turn loose" in the next week to 2 weeks.

Here is a picture of me receiving my first chemo treatment.  Life is precious people, enjoy every second.

  2. I thought of you so often today, and prayed every time I did! I'm so thankful that all went well for you, and the PET scan results are just the icing on the cake!!!!! I've had several now in the past few years, and you'd think by now I'd be more trusting!!!! I must confess that I still get anxious about those results. Don't know what type of chemo you are getting, but I started losing my hair within a week, and it was gone by my next treatment. You are so right --- life is so precious! I'll be praying for you during the next weeks.

  5. When I went to my own blog this morning and saw your smiling face there on the side, I just had to come over and tell you that I'm praying for you! I know it's been a few days since your first chemo treatment and I'm wondering how you are doing so far. I had a mix of cytoxin and taxotere, and my worst time in the 3 week period was probably day 3 through 10. I do know that some of the chemos have little or no down side, some have worse. Best part???? You DO get through it, and IT is temporary!!!!! Just know I'm praying you through it today!!!!!
